Hit to lead
The medicinal chemistry team at O2H has a rich and varied experience in creating viable drug-like candidates from the initial hits. The hits are generated from screening libraries which will often have various issues related to safety, toxicity, bioavailability, tissue distribution etc. At O2H we give a great deal of attention to these critical issues during the planning phase.

O2H use the available information and the data and on the hits to design a strategy in confidence with our client. This roadmap will consider the most critical issues like IP status, drugablility, time-frame and critical success factors.

Typically the hit to lead strategy starts at the hit validation level; this includes re-synthesis, in-vitro studies and checking on selectivity, safety and metabolic issues. Our teams of experts are capable of assessing these critical factors using various conventional and modern drug discovery tools.

O2H has partnered with CompChem Solutions™ managed by Susan Boyd (see list of advisors) based in Cambridge, UK to provide full computational chemistry support for medicinal chemistry projects. Through its partner in this area O2H can support hit to lead projects by providing support to structure based drug design, focused or diverse library design and predictive ADME modeling.
